TESOL – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages:
Travel and work internationally!

The TESOL certificate program has been created for anyone who is interested in an exciting, rewarding career teaching English overseas. Our well designed curriculum is taught by experienced and highly qualified tenured faculty, who have taught for various private local universities, as well as Seattle Central Community College.
The course is devised for those who want to teach children as well as adults.
Taking one course results in the Basic TESOL certificate. Taking two courses results in the 100 hour Advanced certificate.

This program introduces major approaches and effective methods in the second language acquisition field. Students will also complete a six hour practicum working with ESL/ELL students.

Course topics covered may include:

 Understanding learner factors, motivation, styles and backgrounds
 Cross-cultural awareness
 Classroom Management: Including teaching across age groups
as well as teaching in a multi-level classroom
 Class observations and practicum: co-teach or assist in an ESL class
 Effective teaching methods
 Technology in the classroom
 Assessment and testing
 Different ways of developing a lesson plan
 Interactive projects, videos and guest speakers

*Students must have a B.A. degree or permission from the
Program Manager to enroll.

$1495 – Basic course
$ 495 – Grammar course
